January 31, 2012

Drake is scheduled to arrive into the world on
Tuesday, January 31, 2012.
The C-Section procedure is set to begin at 1:30 p.m.

That's the plan, unless any more surprises come up. I'm doing ok. This is all taking its toll on me for sure. Feeling really exhausted and overwhelmed. Desperately wanting to just hold my baby. At the same time, trying to cope with the fact I will most likely not get to hold my baby for awhile. We're prepared for him to be whisked off to the NICU right away, and we trust the team of doctors who will be taking care of him. We're bracing ourselves that we may not have long with our sweet baby boy. Trying to stay strong and not utterly fall apart at the mere thought of losing him. An emotional juggling act that I still can't believe I am in the midst of.

Oh, my sweet friend. My heart breaks for you. Having known fear and uncertainty and loss and grief in my own different way, I wish so badly that there was something I could say or do to make this journey easier. Please know that I am here, at any time of day or night, if you need to talk...and that my prayers and love are with you across the miles. You are such an example of faith and hope to those of us who have observed your journey and walk behind you in support. XO.

Stacy,
Andrea's been keeping me updated on what's going on... we've cried together for your heart and your little one. I've prayed and will continue to do so... people I love and trust are praying as well... and from far away, all the way in Indiana, am sending so much love and peace and hope your way.
Love, Kate Martin

Praying with you, and sending hugs across the miles to you tonight. I hear the uncertainty mixed with hope, the balancing act like you wrote about - juggling such crazy opposite emotions all at once. I pray that God will be evident, showing up in hands and kind eyes and smiles and arms that hold and medicines and miracles and wisdom and peace that passes all understanding.

Singing Great is Thy Faithfulness in church this weekend, the line "strength for today, and bright hope for tomorrow" keeps running through my head and prayers. You remain constantly in my heart, thoughts and prayers. We love you so much. All three of you.

We understand what you are going through, from the NICU experience, the cardiac baby, and other things.

A North Park Alumni, sending prayers to our Father. Prayers that He would send his assurance of love and faithfulness to you, no matter what. You can get through anything!

Holding you all close at heart in and in prayers. You are all loved so much - I hope that can be felt across the miles, over the Internet, and into the delivery room tomorrow. You are wonderful parents to Drake.

Stacy -
I am a friend of Samara Postuma, and she shared you blog so we, her friends could pray for you and Drake as well.
I want you to know that you and your little one are in my prayers today and going forward. I pray for Drake's strength and health. I pray the same for you and your family.
Take care and remember God is always with you!

Hello, Peterson Family,
I am a friend of Laura Dunlap's and saw her post about praying for you and your baby today. It is 12:23 EST. I don't know you, but I have been inspired by the journey Laura and her family have navigated. And now, I know that God is hearing her fervent prayers as one who so closely understands your trial. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe in God the Father. And I believe in the Holy Spirit. And I believe in the power of prayer. I am praying for your family today, as a sister in Christ, and a mother and wife. May each one of you receive the blessing, the miracle and the grace and love He has for you!

Stacy...my sister-in-law, Allison (Ferwerda), shared your blog with me. I'm so sorry you're having to face this all with your sweet boy. My son was born with a heart defect last summer, and I understand a bit of the fear and uncertainty you've experienced, although on a much smaller scale. I want you to know I'm praying for you, Jon, and Drake. I've prayed for Drake to be strong enough to live...but mostly I'm praying for you to know God's grace and mercy regardless of what happens. I can tell that you are loved by many, and I pray the prayer support you are receiving today serves as a source of great strength and encouragement.
